Marketing Manager

In the role of Marketing Manager you will be responsible for achieving Almy sales objectives while maintaining and improving the company's reputation for quality, value and fairness among customers, suppliers, employees and the wider community. Specifically, the Marketing Manager conducts market research and guides all external communications related to sales, promotion and overall brand support for Almy. The primary measurement of your performance will be achievement of sales goals at targeted costs. Measurement of the cost will include assessment of the impact the marketing department has on other internal operations.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing catalog and promotion mailings programs using Almy's house and rented lists. Contributing creative input and content where appropriate.
  • Developing and producing electronic marketing programs, including email promotions and newsletters, web logs and website search optimization. Contributing creative input and content for company website.
  • Maintaining the company's media advertising program and, when possible, contributing editorial content to media outlets
  • Measuring and report regularly on results of marketing programs
  • Maintaining the company's in-house customer database

This position reports to Almy's President/Marketing Director. You'll regularly team with our Art Director, and managers of Product Development, Sales & Service and IT to accomplish your specific goals, along with other members of the management group. You'll partner with our contracted website developer and e-marketing service provider, our mail list providers, various media sales people and market research and creative services on projects. And, of course, you'll meet our customers that participate in any market research.

Job Requirements:
In order for us to consider you for the position, you should have:

  • 3-5 years experience in marketing management positions
  • Deep background in direct marketing technique: catalog, direct mail, email, telesales
  • Current experience in ecommerce including email, SEO and website performance analysis & improvement
  • Proficient in hands-on database management and analysis using software such as Microsoft Access or a similar database program
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • A Bachelor's Degree, with a concentration on marketing and/or marketing communications.
  • Membership in direct marketing professional organizations such as the DMA

Experience in marketing to the Christian church market is a preferred qualification for this position.

Compensation:
Base salary, plus incentive based on achievement of department objectives, plus bonus based on achievement of company objectives.
